National Women's Confidence DaySM

Inspired by CurvationSM Project ConfidenceSM, Curvation® brand and Queen Latifah in partnership with the YWCA have established a day each year to celebrate women's confidence across the nation.

Held the first Wednesday of every June, this years National Women's Confidence DaySM is June 6, 2007.SM.

Acknowledged by Representative Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), a member of the Congressional Caucus on Women's Issues, and included in the Congressional Record via an extension of remarks supporting the day, women across the country now have a dedicated day to celebrate the positive impact of confidence on women's personal and professional lives.

This year, Dr. Lorraine Cole, CEO of YWCA USA, announced the kick-off of the Project ConfidenceSM Outreach Program, a multi-faceted women's confidence-building curriculum sponsored by the CURVATION® brand, designed to give women the tools they need to build their confidence, achieve their dreams and enrich their communities. This is the first confidence-building program in the YWCA's nearly 150-year history to be aimed at women over the age of 18.

This program was developed with three goals in mind:

  1. To remind women everywhere to empower themselves with self confidence every day.
  2. To create an opportunity for women to help other women live more confident and fulfilling lives via educational programs, fundraising, self-empowerment and volunteer work.
  3. To tribute women who contribute, via education, fundraising, self-empowerment and volunteer work, to other women helping them to gain more confidence and self esteem.

The PROJECT CONFIDENCE Outreach Program, will run monthly "confidence curriculum" workshops at participating YWCA locations from June 2007 through February 2008. The focus of these workshops is to build and sustain confidence in every area of a woman's life, from style and health to career and personal finance. Enrollment is free.
