And I think that's a great thing. Right? Talk about "Anything Goes".
It seems that celebrities dressed according to their individual moods rather than than the collective state of the occasion. It was state of mind vs. state of affair. Which accounted for some of the fellows like Brad Pitt and Javier Bardim going tieless under three-piece suits. And some of the women sporting short, dressed down cocktail fare, like Michelle Pfeiffer's unadorned slate gray strapless number.
Even Tlida Swinton's long gunmetal gown was toned down with a steel gray blazer!
What gives? It almost made celebs like Debra Messing and Christina Appelgate in their sequin-studded showstoppers, seem overdressed! What saved the long gowns from looking out-of-place was color -- America Ferrara's (photo above) pavement-gray lace gown by Monique L'Huillier, and Angelina Jolie's billowing chiffon in ombred browns.
But what was most uplifting was what we didn't see: There wasn't a sagging chest in sight, despite all the strapless dresses and barely there bodices.
All hail strapless foundation....and a standing ovation for Curvation's Stay-Up Strapless, C's bra of choice for any occasion that calls for baring shoulders and a daring decollete.
Have a beautiful day Ladies and a stellar night.
